What is SignBFF?

SignBFF is a mobile app that connects sign language learners with practice partners for live video conversations. Whether you're learning ASL, BSL, LSF, Auslan, or any other sign language — think of it as a gym buddy, but for signing.

Do I need to already know sign language to use the app?

No. We match you with partners at your skill level, so even if you only know the alphabet and a few phrases, you'll find someone in the same boat.

Is this a teaching app?

Not exactly. We don't have structured lessons or curriculum. SignBFF is where you practice what you're learning — with a real person, face to face. Pair it with whatever courses or classes you're already taking.

What sign languages are supported?

SignBFF supports multiple sign languages including ASL (American Sign Language), BSL (British Sign Language), LSF (French Sign Language), Auslan (Australian Sign Language), and more.

How does matching work?

Our algorithm considers your proficiency level, interests, learning goals, pace preference, and availability to suggest partners you'll actually click with.

Can I find practice partners near me?

Yes. The Nearby Map shows other signers in your area so you can connect for in-person practice. Your exact location is never shared — we randomize positions to protect your privacy.

How do video calls work?

Calls happen directly in the app — no links, no third-party apps. Tap the call button on a scheduled session or a partner's profile, and you're connected face to face.

Is the app free?

Yes. You can match, message, schedule sessions, and make video calls for free. Free users have daily limits on swipes and Available Now sessions. A premium subscription is available for unlimited access.
